DANVILLE / MADRID – US textile-to-textile recycling pioneer Circ has agreed a deal to provide circular fibres at industrial scale to Spanish next-gen textile R&D company Pyratex.
Pyratex has already developed fabrics with Circ’s recycled polyester and lyocell fibres but is now set to scale volumes as Circ develops its first industrial scale plant in Saint-Avold, France.
Circ’s patented ‘hydrothermal’ process – which uses water as a solvent – aims to recycle cotton, polyester and poly-cotton blends into virgin-equivalent, market-grade dissolving pulp and petroleum monomers.
