Aquafil opens nylon recycling demonstration plant – Ecotextile News

Aquafil says it has taken a major step forward in its circularity programme with the opening of a pilot plant to chemically separate elastic fibre from nylon waste textiles.

Italian nylon manufacturer Aquafil has opened a demonstration plant to advance the chemical separation of elastic fibre from nylon.

The company is well known for its Econyl technology, which transforms waste such as discarded fishing nets and other end of life nylon materials into Econyl Nylon 6 which has a range of industrial applications including in textiles, sportswear and swimwear.
