The Refashion platform for connecting textiles and footwear recycling stakeholders
The apparel industry’s sourcing of ‘more sustainable’ raw materials is continuing to rise but greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are also climbing, according to a new report from Textile Exchange.
The global non-profit’s latest Material Change Insights report – released today – warns that with the sourcing of conventional raw materials still increasing, its climate change targets look increasingly challenging.
The report is based on data submitted by 424 companies – including brands, retailers, manufacturers and suppliers – through Textile Exchange’s Materials Benchmark for 2021.
